In the high-velocity hurricane zone a roof is a structural assembly, not a covering. Every component — deck, fastening pattern, underlayment, flashing, tile attachment — carries a product approval number, and the inspector checks the numbers against what is actually on the roof.

We install complete, approved systems and we photograph every stage: deck nailing, secondary water barrier, flashing terminations, and the finished field. That record is what your insurer and the next buyer's inspector will ask for, and it is what turns a wind-mitigation form into a premium discount.

How we run it

Roof survey

Core samples where needed, deck condition, existing layers, drainage and flashing conditions documented with photographs.

System selection

A specific approved assembly chosen for the slope, exposure and budget, with the NOA numbers listed on the permit application.

Tear-off & dry-in

Existing layers removed, deck repaired and re-nailed, secondary water barrier installed and inspected the same day where possible.

Finish & document

Field installation, flashing, final inspection and a photo record plus warranty package handed over.

If the leak is at a flashing, a boot or a small field area and the underlayment is still sound, repair. If the underlayment has reached the end of its life, patching only moves the next leak somewhere else — and most tile roof leaks are underlayment failures, not tile failures.

Usually, and substantially. A new roof with a completed wind mitigation inspection can change several discount categories at once — roof cover, roof deck attachment, roof-to-wall connection and secondary water resistance.

If more than a quarter of a roof section is repaired or replaced within a 12-month period, that entire section generally has to be brought up to current code rather than patched.
